Silica Gel (1kg)

Silica gel is a desiccant that dries out the flowers while maintaining their bright colour and structure. Our silica gel is in fine granules (not powder, unlike other shops) to minimize damage to the petals.

These are NOT silica gel beads. Although silica gel beads are cheaper, they will leave imprints on the flower petals and permanently damage them.

Silica gel granules are premium and specially formulated for flower drying, they will not damage your flowers.

How to use:

1. Fill your container with 1cm height of silica powder.

2. Gently place your flowers on top.

3. Carefully pour silica around and under any of the petals, before pouring directly on the flower in order to maintain its shape. You will not be able to change the shape of the flowers after they’ve dried, as they will be very brittle.

4. Close the container tightly and store in a cool dry place.

5. Check back in 4-7 days depending on how thick the flower petals are.

6. Flowers that are properly dried will feel paper-like and are very fragile. Be careful when you’re removing them from the silica!

1. Flower colour will naturally darken through the drying process

2. Time for drying depends on the thickness of the flowers!
