OUR STUDIO
Preserving Precious Memories – in more ways than one
Celebrations can be fleeting, but our memories of them don’t have to be. The Summer Alcove started out as a resin preservation studio, but now we’ve transformed to working with silver. No matter the medium, our mission stays true – preserving the joyous celebrations in our lives and turning precious moments into preserved mementos. What is Silica Gel?
Silica gel is a highly absorbent desiccant that quickly remove moisture from flowers while helping ensuring they retain their natural shape, colour, and delicate details.
Unlike traditional air-drying, silica gel works faster and reduces the risk of wilting, browning, or damaging petals.
Drying your flowers with Silica Gel is the best way to help keep your blooms looking vibrant and lifelike even after drying. It’s ideal for preserving keepsakes, home décor, or crafts.

Preserve your own bouquet, at home.
Our original Bouquet Preservation DIY Kit –
the same resin and techniques we used professionally, packaged for first-timers.
Here's How It Works

Step 1:
Prepare a base layer of Silica Gel, about 1-2cm thick

Step 2:
Place your flowers onto the Silica Gel layer. (Optional: Consider cutting off the flower stems to fit more flowers inside)

Step 3:
Add another layer of Silica Gel on top of your flowers, and repeat as necessary.

Step 4:
Wait for 5-7 days, or when the Silica Gel beads to change from blue to pink. This indicates that the beads have absorbed moisture from the flowers

Step 5:
Carefully pour the excess Silica Gel into another container, picking out your dried flowers in the process

Step 6:
Use your dried flowers for any DIY project! To make them into coasters, consider using our Bouquet Preservation DIY Kit
